The Problem
The problem with treating influencer income like a regular business
The month a brand deal pays more than your old salary is usually the same month your income stops looking like a side project and starts looking like a business that needs real books.
Most bookkeepers have never worked with a creator
They can categorize a sale and a refund, but they cannot tell you how to split a sponsorship that pays half on signing and half on delivery, what a gifted product is worth at tax time, or why a platform payout and your actual earned revenue rarely match.
That gap costs creators money twice
Once when income gets miscategorized and the tax bill comes in wrong, and again when nobody flags that an S-corp election would have kept real money off your self-employment tax bill this year.
What You Get
01
Monthly bookkeeping built around your work, not a generic template
We connect to each platform and payment processor, tag income by source, and reconcile it monthly so you always know what each platform or deal actually paid.
02
Contractor 1099 filing for your editor, photographer, or virtual assistant
We prepare and file 1099s as part of ongoing bookkeeping and handle W-9 collection upfront, so filing season is not a scramble.

We flag the S-corp conversation once your income supports it.

Pricing and what moves it
Pricing is scoped to your income and how many platforms and revenue streams you are tracking, since a creator with three brand deals a year needs less than one running income through five platforms. Book a consultation and we will walk you through your plan.

Book a MeetingInfluencer Bookkeeping, Explained
Every dollar that reaches you as a creator starts in a different place: a brand deal, an affiliate link, a platform payout, a gifted product, a tip. We track each source separately from day one, so your profit and loss shows you where your income actually comes from instead of one unclear revenue line.
We understand the creator world. Brand deals, affiliate commissions, platform payouts, and gifted products are not edge cases for us, they are the default.
Bookkeeping tells you what happened. Tax planning tells you what to do about it. We flag the S-corp conversation once your income supports it, calculate what you should be setting aside for quarterly estimated taxes, and make sure brand deals and gifted products are treated the way the IRS actually expects, not the way a generic guide assumes.
- Brand deal and sponsorship income, split by signing payment and delivery payment
- Affiliate commissions from platform, software, and product partnerships
- Platform payouts and creator fund revenue, tracked against what each platform actually pays out
- Gifted products and barter income, valued at fair market rate
- Camera gear and equipment purchases, tracked for depreciation
- Software subscriptions, editing tools, and content licensing
- Contractor payments to editors, photographers, and virtual assistants
- Home office and internet allocation
- Travel and location shoot expenses
- Agent and management commissions
Most creators past a certain size run on contractors, an editor, a photographer, a virtual assistant, sometimes a manager. Each one who crosses the filing threshold needs a 1099-NEC, and getting the threshold wrong is an easy way to under-report.
Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the 1099-NEC threshold rises from $600 to $2,000 for payments made from 1 January 2026 onward. Payments made in 2025 are still governed by the $600 threshold. We track this at the contractor level so nothing slips between the two rules.
We prepare and file 1099s as part of ongoing bookkeeping and handle W-9 collection upfront, so filing season is not a scramble.
| Concept | What we do |
|---|---|
| S-corp election | We model the self-employment tax savings against your actual profit and flag the right year to convert, along with the payroll compliance that comes with it |
| Quarterly estimated taxes | We calculate what you owe each quarter using Form 1040-ES and flag each deadline before it arrives |
| Gifted product taxability | Gifted products and free trips count as taxable income at fair market value whether or not you asked for them, and we track them that way |
| Deduction itemization | Camera gear, editing software, wardrobe and props, and a proportional home office all get tracked as deductible from day one |
| Business and personal separation | We help you keep a business account and card separate from personal spending so nothing gets missed or double counted |
| Multi-platform income | Brand deals, affiliate income, platform payouts, and merch each get tracked and taxed correctly, even when they land in the same month |
| Brand deal milestones | A sponsorship paid in stages gets recorded against the right delivery, not counted all at once |
| Catch up bookkeeping | We reconstruct however many months or years have gone untracked before starting the monthly cycle |
- Self-employment tax runs 15.3% on top of ordinary income tax, and without a plan you pay the full rate on everything you earn
- Gifted products and free trips are taxable at fair market value whether or not you asked for them
- The 1099-NEC threshold is $2,000 for payments made from 1 January 2026, and $600 for payments made in 2025
- An S-corp election only pays for itself once your profit clears a certain point, and we model that point against your actual numbers
